How many drives can I chain together using FW800?

For best performance we recommend a chain of no longer than 5 drives. Beyond that there can be connection and speed issues. While FireWire can technically support more devices there can be issues tied to cable lengths as well as total units. Also, many devices, such as camcorders, do not work well when chained with other FireWire devices.
