G-Technology™ Launches "G-ACADEMY" Educational Series
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 25, 2012–Known for delivering premium external storage solutions engineered to meet the needs of the Apple® Mac® community, G-Technology today announced its G-ACADEMY educational series. The goal of the G-ACADEMY program is to help others see creativity in action from the creator's point of view. The program consists of a series of video workshops that captures filmmakers and photographers while they work, and provides behind-the-scenes views of their processes.
In the first G-ACADEMY series, G-Technology takes viewers behind the scenes of independent filmmaker and G-TEAM member Sébastien Montaz-Rosset's latest project, "Summits of My Life." This series documents the quest by world-champion ski mountaineer, Kilian Jornet, who is running up the highest mountains in the world – starting with Mont Blanc in 2012 and finishing with an exciting expedition to the roof of the world, Mount Everest in 2015.
Showcasing extreme shooting conditions and breathtaking scenery, the unique multi-camera footage, with commentary by Montaz-Rosset, gives unprecedented access to the techniques, tools and drive behind his creativity. Shooting at nearly 11,000 feet on Grands Montets in France, Montaz-Rosset shares with viewers his creative philosophy as he works on the ground with a DSLR and via a remote control aerial drone to capture the intense nature of mountain running. The Sébastien Montaz-Rosset G-ACADEMY videos are available athttp://drivencreativity.g-technology.com/g-academy
The G-ACADEMY program also provides unique access to G-Technology G-TEAM Ambassadors as they give hints, tips and techniques on how their content is created. Viewers can follow the video from a number of camera angles. Each session also comes with a free downloadable factsheet containing diagrams, equipment lists, summary guide and digital assets so that viewers can practice their newly learned creative techniques.
G-Technology also recently announced the Driven Creativity awards competition. Like the G-ACADEMY, Driven Creativity helps to support, inspire and celebrate today's artists in film, music, photography and animation, and gives them a way to showcase their creative brilliance. The Driven Creativity awards competition is now open for submissions; $5,000 will be given to one artist for their next creative project. Creative amateurs and professionals can submit their work for Driven Creativity at http://drivencreativity.g-technology.com
