2TB GDrive runs Slow

Using 2 TB gdrive attached to a mac pro using firewire 800.
I am trying to playback Apple Prores HQ files in final cut 7 and it is lagging and dropping all kinds of frames. I have run Blackmagics Drive speed Test on this drive and it says it has a read speed of 24 mbs.
I have 6 other 1 TB GDrives that play these files fine. that have a read speed of 35mbs.
Do I have a bad drive? Please advise!!!

Thanks for your post. It sounds like you may have a defective HDD in your unit. Try re-formatting the drive and see if that helps, if not, then return the drive for replacement. Please let me know if you have any questions.
