RAID-1 Two Thunderbolt drives

I want to connect two of the 8TB Thunderbolt drives to one MacMini and raid them together Raid-1. Result is 8TB mirrored on each G-Raid. This will work, right?

It is technically possible but very much not recommended. You are dealing with 4 drives in that situation and a lot of overhead for a software RAID to handle.
